Aurora Gallery and Boutique (1264 Shelby St.) announced their closing at the end of May via social media. No reason was given for the closure, but they did cite that the lease on their space is up June 1.
Aurora has been a hub for outsider and fine artists alike to share works, crafts, and other goods for sale. Their “Made You A Mixtape” and “Season of the Witch” group shows were extremely popular and successful.
When the announcement was made, the outpouring of support from the community came quickly.
The final show at Aurora will be the “Run From The Roses” show, opening April 26 and benefitting Feed Louisville.
