Raven’s Roost Boutique has announced its closure in a post on Facebook.
In the post on Facebook, the owner of the store said:
With hurt in my heart, tears in my eyes and a lump in my throat. It is time to announce my closure. Many factors are playing into this closure. I think we can start with the obvious, it has slowed down. We really never recovered from the bridge closure that cut off so many of you from Louisville. In response to slowing down at the store I poured myself into events, just trying to keep the doors open and food in my kid’s bellies. Spreading myself so thin that I hardly have direction anymore. The pressure of giving you all the best experiences in both the store, and the many events that I organize has put tremendous strain on my mental health. Now I am faced with burn out like never before. I can not continue to provide the love and support that wanted to give this community. I need a moment to breathe.
I know this announcement will hurt for some, and I am so sorry. But, I won’t be gone entirely. The spirit of the store will live on with The Conclave: Pagan Roots & Witches’ Revelry and the many other events I will continue to organize for this community.
And, I STILL NEED YOUR SUPPORT! I am faced with a bit of debt connected with the store, namely taxes. I need you all to show up and stock up to help me go out with a bang and a fresh slate. PLEASE. I think most of you all that know me, know I fear asking for help. It may have been my downfall. However, I need your help now. We need to liquidate so that I may move forward and continue to provide for the community through events.
We will also have a bit of a change of hours in the meantime, we will now be open Wednesday-Saturday from 12pm-6pm.
Lastly, I want you all to know I appreciate each and every one of you that have made this store what it has been for the last five years. I am so sorry that I can not go on. I love you all.
Once we liquidate our products, I will be having a fixture, decor and plant sale. If you are interested in a particular plant now, just let me know. We are shooting for a closing our doors on June 14th after which we will have a fixture yard sale, however it may be sooner if we simply run out of products. As we get closer to closing sales will increase, but don’t wait to stock up.
TLDR: Im closing, I am sad. We are liquidating, Closing June14th, maybe sooner. Events like The Conclave, Beltane, Kentuckiana Medieval Faire, and possibly the Witches Markets will continue. I still need your help. I love you all. I am sorry.
Raven’s Roost opened during the COVID pandemic first at 128 W. Main St. in New Albany and last year, moved to the current location at 419 E. Market St. Unit 100.
Louisville Independent spoke with owner Antoinette Beatty via Messenger, and she isn’t leaving the occult behind, as she has several events to come.
“I would consider another store long in the future, and possibly a different city. I will do pop-ups at my events that will continue. The Conclave, the Kentuckiana Medieval Faire, and more.”
Beatty cited the bridge closure as part of the reason for the closing, but also with tariffs beginning to affect shipments, the math isn’t adding up for Raven’s Roost. So, she made the tough decision to shut down.
“We saw a significant decline in business during bridge closures, but held on at the Seeds N Greens location, and we hoped things would return to normal when the bridge opened, but it didn’t. So, to decrease overhead, we moved to the current location almost a year ago, but with increased prices from suppliers with tariffs, it’s just not sustainable. Additionally, with burnout from maintaining the store, planning the big events, and the store just not being as profitable as it was, I am choosing to close and focus on events and my mental health.”

Over the next few weeks, the store is hosting a 15% off liquidation sale that will help Beatty settle some business expenses before the closing date, which is tentatively set for June 14.
