Opening Jan. 31, Mrs Krishnan’s Party will bring back this immersive evening with the Indian Ink Theatre Company.
Mrs Krishnan’s Party will transform the Victor Jory Theatre into the backroom of Mrs. Krishnan’s convenience store where one of her tenants has invited some friends to celebrate the Onam harvest festival with her.
Ticketing for this show will determine how the audience interacts with the show. The play includes food, music, and dancing. The cast of the show manages to do their jobs as actors while cooking, performing music, and welcoming the guests as the drama unfolds.
The party runs 75 minutes with no intermission. No two performances are alike.
“We brought Mrs Krishnan’s Party to Louisville audiences last season to celebrate the reality of this city’s diverse population as well as to offer something that is so uniquely warm and fun and fosters community,” said Ben Gierhart, Communications Coordinator at Actors Theatre in a release. “Regardless of culture and background, people bond over food, and this production so successfully served our mission that when we were presented with the opportunity to bring it back, the decision to make was easy.”
