Louisville Pride 5K Celebrates 4 Years In June

If you’re the type to love a run/walk around a scenic park, registration is open for the fourth annual Louisville Pride 5K. Runners and walkers will take to the starting line Sunday, June 15 at 9 a.m. for the race at Iroquois Park. The event is family-friendly and open to individuals of all ages, athletic abilities, and backgrounds. The race will wind through the park and end just outside the Iroquois Amphitheater.

Registration costs $25 before April 7. After April 7 there will be a price adjustment. If anyone is interested in participating remotely, there is a virtual 5K option.

Each participant will receive a reversible bucket hat and finisher’s medal. Now, because this is a pride event, there will be bamboo Pride 5K clacker fans available in limited quantities. Proceeds from this event benefit both the Louisville Pride Foundation and Kentuckiana Pride Foundation. Both organizations dedicate their work to promoting equity, representation, and support for the local LGBTQ+ community.

The race is managed by Louisville Running Company, an LGBTQ+- owned business.

“Louisville is a city full of rich history and diversity, and Louisville Running Company is committed to celebrating that diversity. Runners and walkers of all speeds, shapes, sizes, colors, and backgrounds are welcome,” said owner Michael Clemons. “The Louisville Pride 5K is a family-friendly event for people of all ages, athletic abilities, and skill levels. People of all ages and abilities can run or walk the 3.1 miles.”
