Don E. Yeoman, Jr. is a Louisville-based digital creator who also goes by Magic Donnie (according to his Facebook profile) makes Louisville neighborhoods shine, not because of the real estate — exactly. He’s turning a light on the charms that go beyond houses and restaurants. He’s using his drones to showcase the culture and attractions in town, but it’s his cheeky spin on local neighborhoods that has recently captured locals’ interest, and he’s got more up his sleeve. So far, Yeoman has done neighborhood spotlights on Valley Station, PRP, and the Highlands.
His latest video on the Highlands caught my attention on an afternoon scroll, so I asked if I could share it with the Louisville Independent audience.
We asked Yeoman what inspired him.
“Just working on my skills with the drone and new editing software, I did the Valley Station one, just to see if I could do a good video, and it was liked so much, I did PRP next,” said Yeoman. “Both of those videos are still getting lots of views and shares, so I made a list of 10 more neighborhoods to do and see how well these types of videos can do. With each new video, I’m trying to incorporate something new as far as editing or other cameras, so I’m learning along the way, and hopefully with the attention, I can find work doing what I love.”
Ahem, local companies looking for creative digital content makers, don’t sleep on Yeoman. The rest of you, follow Yeoman on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok
