The Jefferson County Clerk has scheduled an amnesty docket. This offers those with active bench warrants a chance to have their warrant set aside and their cases rescheduled. The deadline for application is Friday, Feb. 28.
A bench warrant is issued from the judge of a case most often for failure to appear. The amnesty docket offers a chance to have the case rescheduled and the warrant dismissed, which means the person will not be arrested.
Once your application is made, the dates for amnesty hearings are:
Friday, March 7 at 1 p.m.
Saturday, March 8 at 9 a.m.
Monday, March 10 at 1 p.m.
All Kentuckians with a bench warrant for a non-violent office and class D non-violent felony offenses can apply for Amnesty Court. These people are eligible whether or not they live in Jefferson County.
