IU Southeast Partners With Local High Schools For New Speedy Admissions Process

Indiana University Southeast has partnered with 12 local high schools to offer a guaranteed college admission for high school seniors. This will take effect for students who will be high school seniors in the Fall of 2025.

Under the agreement, if a student has reached senior-level rank with at least a 2.0 GPA or higher, and is on track to earn their Indiana Core 40 diploma (equivalent or higher) then they are eligible. These students can fill out an online form instead of the full college application.

“Indiana University Southeast is dedicated to the success of our current and future students,” said Dr. Debbie Ford, chancellor of Indiana University Southeast, in a release. “With these agreements, we are demystifying the admissions process and making it easier for students to attend college and access life-changing opportunities. This is especially important for first-generation students whose families may be navigating this process for the first time.”

This program is designed to increase access to college and inform students sooner about their eligibility for scholarships. All incoming first-year students at IUS will receive immediate consideration for an admission-based scholarship of up to $2,500 a year, as well as the opportunity for other scholarships and awards.

Schools participating in this program are: New Albany, Floyd Central, Borden, Henryville, Clarksville, Corydon Central, South Central, New Washington, Charlestown, Jeffersonville, Silver Creek, and Seymour. There are other schools in the process of finalizing agreements with the university.
