
After a several-decade hiatus from cartooning and 13 years away from Louisville, Michael Ray returns to cartooning. Previously, he was published in the esteemed local alt-press, including CityPaper, MainStreet, Louisville Artist Magazine, and spent a handful of years at the University of Louisville Cardinal (starting in the mid-seventies “shudder”). He is unapologetically still a liberal hippie. His work will appear as the muse strikes him.
Many political cartoonists have created some awesome, angry, and poignant work, so I didn’t want to compete,” said Ray. “I did wonder about how children might observe this Minneapolis execution video and come to a possible suggestion for a magical solution. I wish I still believed in magic…”
