Kentuckians have been on the cutting edge of many of the world’s major events. From cinema to military, science, and more, Kentuckians have changed the world. To celebrate the state of Kentucky and its citizens, the Frazier Museum has launched “Kentucky Wide,” a podcast that celebrates all things in the Commonwealth.
The first episode was released June 1, on the anniversary of Kentucky becoming the 15th state in the Union on June 1, 1792.
The podcast is hosted by Frazier staff Mick Sullivan and Sarah Jemerson, and will release new episodes every two weeks throughout the summer.

The first episode of “Kentucky Wide” features the stories of four Black photographers from Kentucky: The Smith Brothers (twins from Nicholasville); Moneta Sleet from Owensboro, and Bud Dorsey of Louisville.

Other upcoming episodes will feature Martin Van Buren Bates of Letcher County, a 7’9” tall man, Wedding dress designer Madame Glover of Louisville, and a murdered Civil War general, “Bull” Nelson of Maysville.
“Kentucky Wide” is available wherever you find podcasts: Apple, Spotify, Amazon/Audible, and iHeart.
