The Cosmic Songwriter Festival is entering its third year as a live music festival that grew from Bloomington’s monthly Cosmic Songwriters Club, where musical artists pair up to write and perform original songs.

Granfalloon 2025, April – June (Main Event June 4 – 8)

A few Granfalloon events have already taken place, but what’s still to come is worth blocking out a weekend to visit Bloomington. This year’s Granfalloon mainstage will feature the legendary Mavis Staples, Thee Sacred Souls, I’m With Her, and Murder by Death, who are kicking off a farewell tour.

Thee Sacred Souls

Granfalloon is the annual celebration of art, ideas, and community inspired by Indiana writer Kurt Vonnegut Jr. This year’s festival returns with an expanded schedule of free public programming.

While the Cosmic Songwriter Festival and Granfalloon 2025 are two of Bloomington’s biggest music events, the city hosts other music events, including the Bloomington Bluegrass Festival on May 3, the Bloomington Summer Soul Fest on August 9, and a Bluesfest on October 4, all hosted at Upland Brewing. Additionally, there’s the Lotus World Music & Arts Festival from September 25-28, the Ellettsville Summer Concert Series at Marcie Jane Lewis Park on Saturdays from May 24 to July 26.
