Black Baseball Conference Touches Base In Louisville

Baseball History is fascinating. A sport that cut its teeth on resilience and scandal in equal parts. This year, a conference meant to explore some of that history will happen in Louisville.

The Jerry Malloy Negro League Conference will be in Louisville from Aug. 7 – 9, at the Galt House (140 N. 4th St). Anyone who is a baseball or history fan is welcome to attend. Full and Single-day registrations are available.

The conference was formed to promote activities that enhance the scholarly, educational, and literary objectives of examining Black baseball history.

During the conference, money is allocated towards book donations to schools and libraries, fundraising for the Negro Leagues Baseball Grave Marker Project, and scholarships to high school seniors in the nationwide essay contest and art contest.
The Negro Leagues Committee is original to the committees that form the Society for American Baseball Research (SABR), formed in 1971.
