
Just a short ride from Louisville at The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis (3000 N. Meridian St.), the costuming work of two-time Academy Award winner Ruth Carter will be on view starting Saturday, March 22. The Ruth Carter: Afrofuturism In Costume Design exhibit will feature over 60 of Carter’s works including those from Black Panther, Coming 2 America, Do The Right Thing, and more. The exhibit will take us through Carter’s journey as a young artist through the highly regarded costume designer she is today. Entry to the exhibit is included with museum admission.

Ruth Carter was born in Massachusetts and cut her sewing chops at The Boys and Girls Club in her hometown. She learned on her mother’s machine and from then studied Theater Arts. Carter’s work spans 37 years in the film industry.
