Local Groups Protest Increase ICE Presence In Louisville

A small group of protesters took to the corner of Bardstown Rd. and Eastern Parkway to protest the influx of ICE officers into the city. The protest took place on Tuesday, Jan. 20.

ICE, the beleaguered immigration enforcement arm of the federal government, has taken increased criticism and public scorn for its behavior towards not only undocumented individuals but also citizens of the United States, including the murder of Renee Good in Minneapolis. An autopsy commissioned by her family found that she was shot three times, once in the head, and grazed by a fourth bullet. Public anger against ICE has increased since her killing.

Thank you to Bernie Smallwood-Mudd for providing video of the protest.
