Louisville’s Mega Cavern (1841 Taylor Ave.) blooms with holiday cheer with its annual Lights Under Louisville starting on Friday, Nov. 14, at 6 p.m. Lights Under Louisville has been a special part of the local holiday traditions for 17 years. This year, visitors can expect seven million points of light during their 30-minute drive-through experience. This year features over 40 themed displays, almost 1,000 illuminated characters, projections, and more lights.
The light show is open from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, and will run from its opening date until Saturday, Jan. 3.
A new Cavern Christmas Market joins the fun this year on Saturday, Nov. 15, for a day of holiday shopping with more than 55 vendors, from food trucks, local treats, and handmade creations. The market is free to attend.
“Lights Under Louisville is overjoyed to welcome guests back to the holiday tradition we look forward to every year, with our great partners at Fifth Third Bank. Our 17th year of holiday cheer features our most interactive displays yet, with glowing holiday character sing-alongs to jolly tunes remixed with upbeat rhythms, and bringing back nostalgia to the holiday season,” said Charles Park, Louisville Mega Cavern executive vice president, in a release. “As the world’s only drive-through underground holiday light show, we can’t wait for guests to witness this year’s unforgettable adventure — our most enchanting yet — brought to life by our team dedicated to creating unforgettable magical memories!”
