The gift of Bourbon (also Whiskey) is never a bad idea. In fact, it is the best spirit to share during the holidays other than the spirits of joy and love.
This list is made up of my favorite classic and new expressions that you should consider giving to someone who enjoys a nice sip. I share this in no particular order but with the assurance that each expression was chosen with care.
What kind of bourbon/whiskey drinker am I?
I tend to choose bourbons that I sip neat or on the rocks with a splash of water, so if you’re looking for a bourbon to mix, some of these should still fit that purpose for a fine cocktail.

Eternally sippable and never disappointing. It is perfect, neat, or over a few rocks with a splash of water.
Jeptha Creed 6-Year-Old Wheated Bourbon $57.99
A very easy sip. A hint of sweetness and a great one for entry-level bourbon drinkers. Jeptha Creed also has a nice vodka, brandy, and moonshine. They are offering quite a few gift packages this season as well.

Kaigan Sakura Cask Expression Blended Whisky Expression $44.99
Another one that’s easy to sip. A little sweet, but smoky, with a hint of nutty and floral notes, and a touch of fruit.
Whistle Pig 10 Year Aged Snout To Tail $88.99
This expression from Vermont distillers was a welcome surprise this year with its warm caramel and toasty notes. It’s a great bourbon for sipping with a good meal and for relaxing by the fireplace.
Rabbit Hole’s Starlino Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey $44.99
Fans of Manhattans fall in love with this expression finished in Vermouth casks. This comes in strong, at cask strength of 105.6 proof. A perfect holiday sip.
Johnnie Walker: The Collection $89.99
The collection offers tastes of Johnnie Walker Black Label, Gold Label Reserve, Aged 18 Years and Blue Label. Johnnie Walker is a classic label with a long history back to the middle 19th century. This Scottish whiskey has been a favorite for many.
